Write for us
Western Public Journal welcomes thoughtful pitches that help general readers understand an aspect of public life in the western world. We value a clear question, a distinct point of view and careful limits on what a piece claims.
What to pitch
We are interested in accessible explanations of institutions, public records, civic language, shared spaces and participation. A strong idea is focused enough to explain in one article, useful beyond a single news cycle and grounded in material that can be checked. We welcome fresh approaches, not recycled generalities or promotional copy.
What to include
Send a short outline of the subject, the main point you would help readers understand, the likely structure and the material you would rely on. Mention any limits, uncertainties or relevant interests that could affect how readers assess the piece. Do not send confidential information or include claims that cannot be responsibly supported.
How to send a proposal
Submit your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask for clarification before considering it. Please do not send a completed article unless we have agreed to review one.
